Can I Really Learn Thai?

The answer is YES!  Learning Thai is easier than ever with our full line of Thai language courses and learning aids.  Learning Thai is not as hard as you might think.  With all the available Thai resources, you can learn while commuting, while watching TV or while sitting in front of the computer.  If you want to learn to speak Thai, there is no excuse to not.  The world is at our fingertips and learning Thai will help you better communicate with everyone.

Here are 5 Secrets to Learn Thai Fast:

  1. Set a Goal - Decide how many minutes each day you are going to set aside for your Thai studies.  Stick to this no matter what comes about.  Setting a goal to study each day will help you more quickly achieve your goal to learn Thai fast.
  2. Set a Time - Know at what time you are going to study Thai each day.  This is part of your goal setting but of equal importance to your success.  Your time might be first thing in the morning.  Or it might be on your evening commute home.  Whatever the time is, stick to it.
  3. Take Notes - Buy yourself a notebook to use for your Thai studies.  In your notebook take notes of the words or phrases that may be difficult for you to remember.  Spell them out.  Write their definition.  You’ll be surprised with how much this will help you in your goal to learn Thai fast.
  4. Collect Thai Articles and Pictures - Keep a folder and collect Thai articles and pictures about the language and country you are learning about.  You might find an article about Thailand.  Add those to your folder.  The internet is full of Thai language newspapers.  Print off some articles to look over and see how many words you recognize.
  5. Have Fun! - There is no sense setting a goal to learn Thai if you don’t have fun.  Use your new language skills to practice with native speakers.  And before you know it, you’ll be on your way to learning Thai.  Good luck and have fun!

The THAI Language:
Thai is the official language of Thailand. Thai is spoken by approximately 50 million people in Thailand, Vietnam, and the Yunnan province of China. It has several dialects. Although most of the words are monosyllables, a number of them are polysyllabic. Because there is no inflection, word order is important for showing grammatical relationships. The Thai language is also tonal, and the tones serve to distinguish meanings of words otherwise pronounced alike. There are five tones: high, middle, low, rising, and falling. Over the centuries Thai has borrowed many words from Chinese, Khmer, Pali, Sanskrit, and, more recently, from European languages such as French and English. The Thai language has its own alphabet, which ultimately goes back to a script of Southern India and which was adopted in the 13th century AD. Thai is written from left to right. Thai is formerly known as Siamese and is a member of the Tai or Thai subfamily of the Sino-Tibetan family of languages.
