Beijing China

Take your camera along on this trip.  There is nowhere else that you will find and be able to see the wonders of nature or into the past like you can in Beijing.  The steep cliffs that surround the Great Wall are awe inspiring.

I have found that learning even just a little of the language before traveling to a foreign country will greatly enhance your trip. Click here to view a complete list of our Chinese language courses and learning aids.

Great Wall of China
A wall of about 3100 miles in length was constructed between the years 221 to 207 B. C.  This is a wonder of the world.  It is surrounded by spectacular views of deep cliffs.

Forbidden City
Known as the Former Palace, it consists of 9000 rooms and 70 structures which are mostly surrounded by high wall.  Be sure and see this. It is one of a kind.

The Summer Palace
If you have time, spend a day here.  In the residence there is a long corridor with lots of beautiful paintings.  A bridge with 17 arches gives you a wonderful view of the home, grounds and gardens.

Lama Temple
Built in 1694, it was the residence of Prince Yin Zhen.  There are five large halls, delicate archways and courtyards.  You will find a lot of Buddhist art and Tibetan style murals.

Tiananmen Square
The People’s Republic of China is represented here.  The square is surrounded by Tiananmen Gate, The Forbidden City, The Great Hall of the People, The Monument of the People’s Heroes and the Mao Zedong Mausoleum.

Temple of Heaven
Built between 1406 and 1420, this is where the emperors prayed.  The Temple of Heaven was a place of reverence where many prayers were given to plead for blessings upon their crops, harvests and rain.

Silver Fox Cave
Beautiful stone flowers, formations, artifacts and waterfalls are seen as you ride along in a boat.  And it is all below ground level.  In the cave you will find it warm in the winter and cold in the summer.

Ming Tombs
The tombs are 31 miles northwest of Beijing.  This is the burial place of 13 out of 17 emperors of the Ming Dynasty.  Two of the tombs were excavated in 1958 and are open to the public.

Bei Hai Park
Built for recreation by the emperors, you can rent paddle boats on the river and just relax in the beautiful setting.  This is a great place to sit back and relax from the hustle and bustle of the city.
